Sixty two people wearing pink!

That's the sight that greeted visitors to Swanage over the Bank Holiday weekend. Evie's Jurassic 13 was a 13 mile hike from Worth Matravers to Studland Point to raise awareness and funds for Evie's Gift and Julia's House Hospice. The walkers were all decked out in pink polo shirts to make sure that we stood out. The hike took place on the Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th May, and even though each day started out with a downpour, the weather was kind in the end and the walks were bathed in sunshine; so much so that overheating was the biggest problem. The ice cream sellers in Swanage have never been so busy.

The hill coming out of Swanage heading north was quite a challenge, and some decided to 'admire the view' quite a lot on the way up! Walking in some of the most beautiful scenery along the south coast made the day a real pleasure. The route finished at Knoll Beach by the National Trust cafe where everyone indulged in a well-earned drink and yet more ice cream.

In all, the counting is still going on, but we've raised over £6,230 so far to be split between Evie's Gift and Julia's House Hospice.
